I figured out the “brush” part, but not what kind. Beautiful work here. Both theirs and yours! I can hear these tapping together like wind chimes almost.
The sepia adds a style to these artist tools. A delicate artists touch in the delicate woodwork og the handles. And no doubt, the bristles are natural – horsehair, maybe. Calligraphy is an ancient art, so it is appropriate that these graceful brushes be used, tradition is the best here!
Full of texture and shape!
While it is no doubt beautiful in color I enjoy looking at the wooden and gemstone beads and imagining what wonderful color they might be.
I know calligraphy as precise pen work so it was a little bit of a reality check to see the large brush.
Lovely as always Elaine!
oh my these are very interesting brushes. I know because years ago I worked in oils.I have shopped for and seen many brushes but never like these. What a great pick for sepia. your shot is perfect and I love the subject!!

Ancient Chinese Calligraphy Brushes.
I wouldn’t have known what it was without your description.
I do like the texture and detail, with all the vertical lines. It works well in sepia
Those round forms are very cute and the grip must be enjoyable. I can see the ink flowing on paper…

I wondered what kind of brushes… great in sepia tone, very decorative! Can you guess mine?
They remind me of horses’ tails (hee-hee). Very nice brushes. Great in sepia!
beautiful in sepia, but it got me curious as to how colorful this really is

Interesting and intricate handles on these brushes. I also would not have known what they were without your description.
Cool photo. I’d also like to see the original in color.

Corel Paint Shop Pro x 12 is very good to use, although it is sometimes very very slow. But I like it!
