Instead of being attracted to it’s balls.
    Try focusing on it’s eyes.

The eyes are freaky! How big is this bat… I see the watermelon rind and depending on the size of that.. I would say this is a very large bat. Male, of course.

Spooky! I’m freaked out by the way he’s gnawing on whatever that is (fruit?). I didn’t even see his eyes until I read your instructions!

Yikes…is that what I think it is?? lol…Happy WW:)

  13. June 10, 2009 at 2:20 pm

I’m hoping that’s a strawberry guava rind rather than a watermelon, or at least a personal sized melon, ortherwise that bats the size f a small dog, Luckily it likes fruit as long as I’m not eating any an the vicinity. Wouldn’t want to wrangle with it over slice of watermelong that’s for sure LOL Wonder what the wingspread is. Yikes!

  14. June 10, 2009 at 2:26 pm

Ok I just read up on fruit bats, the smallest of wing spans of 6 inches the largest have wing spans of up to 6 feet, and though they fly OK, they tpretty much crashland by grabbing what ever they can that is handy. I definatly will rethink eating watermelon out of doors in fruitbat territory after dark should the occasion ever arise!

I admit, I fixated on the balls – that is definitely one male bat!

  16. June 10, 2009 at 10:08 pm

  17. June 10, 2009 at 10:39 pm

it’s beautiful in a freaky way:)… and yeah, i noticed the balls first, but then, it’s not everyday we see a bat’s intimate parts:)…

  18. June 11, 2009 at 4:16 am

Fantastic shot! Those eyes are freaky.

  19. June 13, 2009 at 5:16 am

Okay, I guess that answers the question I had. I’ve never been flashed by a fruit bat before.

Freaky… and more than a little creepy on several levels!

  20. June 13, 2009 at 6:19 am

Way more up close and personal than I ever thought I would see a bat! They are such scary looking creatures!!

  21. June 13, 2009 at 2:34 pm

WHOA! I’ve not seen a bat this close… Freaky eyes indeed… and I didn’t know it has balls 😉
